Learning with Colorado Public Radio

Partnership

Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is an essential partner to YEBO. Through coaching and feedback, CPR is helping to hone the technical and professional skillsets of YEBO’s staff.

Learning Through Partnerships

Partnerships at YEBO not only work because of aligned mission statements. Partnerships work because the people involved truly care about co-creating spaces of authenticity, community, and self-determination. The Colorado Public Radio (CPR) Audio Innovations team has supported our work because our values align, and also because they vibe with dope storytelling just as much as we do.

Through our partnership, CPR supported YEBO with designing effective feedback sessions, inviting us to production meetings, and leading storytelling coaching sessions with youth and our staff. With intentionality, these events happened and deepened our partnership with CPR. So much so that the storytelling coaching sessions have become foundational in our framework for Mission 1477.

Mission 1477 was made a reality because of these storytelling coaching sessions, which eventually led to a live event in December 2022. Luis, Community Audio Producer of the Audio Innovations Studio at CPR, coached three of our seniors and myself in storytelling coaching for two months. Luis listened and pushed our stories into the content we performed at our event. Our seniors, Bella, Mino, and Salem shared their voices with pride and joy.

Partnerships like this leverage the strengths from each organization to achieve a greater impact.  These partnerships bloomed into a space of creativity, generating new ideas, and bringing together different people and skills. This partnership supports Mission 1477 by allowing us to think creatively with one another in the art of capturing stories and how to effectively share them to you all.
